May 20, 2007Nearly 9,000 Iraqis, more than half of all those who arrived in Europe from the war-torn country in 2006, made their way to Sweden, which for decades has offered refugees and asylum seekers government aid and generous family reunification plans. Moderate Republicans may desert Bush on war
May 10, 2007Bush met with 11 moderate House Republicans yesterday to hear their concerns about the Iraq War. They will support him for now, but not happily, and will drop their support if he doesn’t show substantial improvement soon. According to organizers of the meeting, moderate Republicans wanted “to convey the frustration and impatience with the war they are hearing from voters.”
